Who Qualifies for EASE (Private)?
To be eligible:
- The household must live in a private residential property
- At least one member must be a Singapore Citizen
- The senior must be:
- 65 years and above, OR
- 60–64 years old and require assistance with at least one Activity of Daily Living (ADL) such as washing, dressing or feeding
The Ministry of National Development (MND) estimates more than 80,000 households may benefit.
What Can the Vouchers Be Used For?
Households can use the vouchers for seven approved fittings:
- Grab bars
- Slip-resistant floor treatment
- Single-step ramps
- Handrails
- Home fire alarm devices
- Bidet sprays
- Shower seats
The scheme subsidises 75% of total installation costs.
For example, if installation costs S$800, the Government covers S$600, and the household pays S$200. Any unused voucher balance can be used later for additional approved fittings.
Only pre-qualified contractors may carry out installations.
How to Apply
Eligible households will receive a mailer detailing the application process.
Applications will be released in phases to prioritise older seniors first. Households are advised to apply promptly once eligible, as early preparation helps prevent falls and mobility injuries at home.

Why This Matters
Singapore’s ageing population is accelerating. Many seniors living in private condominiums or landed properties were previously excluded from EASE support.
By extending subsidies to private housing, the Government closes a policy gap and ensures more equitable ageing-in-place support. Preventive home modifications reduce fall risks, emergency hospital visits and long-term care costs.
For families supporting elderly parents, the phased rollout means planning ahead is important. Those with seniors turning 65 or 70 in 2026 should note the application windows to avoid delays.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can landlords apply for tenants?
No. The application must be made by eligible households residing in the property.
2. Is there an income ceiling?
No income cap has been announced for EASE (Private).
3. Can I use the voucher more than once?
Yes. Unused balances (within the S$1,200 cap) may be used later for additional approved fittings.
4. Is this the same as the HDB EASE scheme?
It is an extension of the original programme, which was previously limited to HDB flats.
